Published: 24/01/2025

Taymouth Castle extends heartfelt congratulations to the Kenmore and District Community Council (KDCC) for their well-earned recognition in the esteemed 2024 SURF Awards.

The Kenmore District Revitalisation project was honoured as one of 15 exceptional community regeneration initiatives across Scotland, receiving a commendation in the “Improving Scotland’s Places” category.

This achievement showcases KDCC’s unwavering commitment to fostering meaningful change and progress for the Kenmore community. Their incredible efforts have led to significant advancements that will shape the future of Kenmore Village for years to come.

Over the past year, Taymouth Castle has proudly supported KDCC in various community-enhancing initiatives. These include reopening public toilets, refurbishing and reopening the village shop, and contributing to the Warm Welcome programme at the Reading Rooms. Additionally, we’ve been privileged to assist the KDCC volunteer team in organising popular local events, such as Christmas in Kenmore.

The restoration of Taymouth Castle also received a special mention in KDCC’s award submission. The recognition highlighted our shared dedication to preserving local heritage, safeguarding an iconic historical site, and creating high-quality employment opportunities in the area. These combined efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to working together with the community to ensure Kenmore continues to thrive for generations.
