As Trout Season Approaches
As the trout fishing season approaches, our team is keeping a close eye on river conditions and taking necessary steps to protect native fish stocks.
Along with the Loch Tay Association and local angling groups, our focus is on looking after the river catchment as a whole and supporting a healthy, balanced environment. We promote practices and initiatives that support the protection of native flora and fauna, as part of our sustainable land management practices and commitment to enhancing biodiversity.
When the trout season commences (15th March 2026 – 6th Oct 2026) day permits will be available online. These are available for permanent local residents at a reduced price of £1 per day, and for those visiting the area for £12.50 per day.
Fishing without a valid permit within the Tay Protection Order area, or outside the designated season, is illegal and risks undoing the work being carried out to protect the river and its wildlife.
