An investment group affiliated with the Taymouth Estate acquired Moness Resort in 2023. Owners have submitted a Pre-Application Notice (PAN) to Perth and Kinross Council proposing a change of use for some of the Resort’s holiday cottages.

The proposed plan will allow select cottages to serve a dual purpose: 

• Holiday rentals for Moness guests 
• Residential staff accommodation for Taymouth Castle employees 

This initiative is designed to tackle the shortage of accommodation in the area while maximising cottage occupancy. Moness Resort’s facilities including the hotel, restaurants, bar, spa, and leisure areas will remain fully operational and unaffected by this proposal. Additionally, the plan will not result in any changes to current staff numbers. 

A spokesperson for Moness Resort. “This proposal allows us to address local housing challenges while continuing to provide outstanding experiences for our guests.” 

As part of the planning process, Moness Resort will host two public consultation events on-site in March and April. Details of the events will be publicised in the coming weeks.
